As Cyber Monday draws to a close, so will these deals. You can always wait for the holiday sales to roll around, but we can’t guarantee there will be any stock or deals as we have seen so far. Things to consider when shopping for an OLED TV deal When shopping for an OLED TV on Cyber Monday, focus on features that align with your needs to ensure you get the best value. OLED technology is revered for its deep blacks, vibrant colours, and superior contrast, making it a top choice for home theatres and immersive entertainment. One of the first things to consider is the resolution and screen size (size does matter!). Most OLED TVs offer 4K, but some high-end models now feature 8K resolution. While 8K provides unparalleled clarity, it’s worth considering whether you’ll fully benefit from it, as 4K content is more widely available (as far as I know). Screen size should be chosen based on your room size and viewing distance (and don’t be like these guys). A 55-inch OLED is great for medium-sized rooms, while 65-inch or larger models are ideal for a more cinematic experience. Another thing is the TV’s refresh rate and gaming capabilities. If you’re a gamer, look for OLED TVs with high refresh rates, such as 120Hz. Also, look for HDMI 2.1 ports and support for Variable Refresh Rates. These ensure smooth gaming and no screen tears, especially on next-gen consoles like the PS5. Support for Nvidia G-Sync or AMD FreeSync can also enhance your gaming experience. Smart features and operating systems are equally important. Consider a TV with a user-friendly interface and access to popular streaming platforms. Some OLED TVs also come with voice assistants like Alexa or Google Assistant, which can make navigation more seamless. If you plan to integrate the TV into a smart home setup, compatibility with your existing ecosystem is worth noting. Should I buy an OLED right now? YES. Since Cyber Week is technically over (which typically has the best discounts), now is one of the better times to save. With discounts of over 30% on some models, it’s hard to imagine buying one of these screens at full price like I did. Sometimes, Black Friday sales include extended warranties and other goodies as extra incentives, so you could benefit from buying around this period beyond a standard discount. With that being said, try to avoid impulse buying. If you look after them, TVs last a long time, and buyer’s remorse is very real. Although you have a return period, ensure you want the TV before pulling the trigger.
