Find out how we test here. Intel is seemingly all set to make a great comeback with its Battlemage graphics cards. Of the two cards, the B570 seems to be targeting the budget category to give the RTX 4060 and the RX 7600 a decent run for its money. That being said, the B580 is set to launch on 13th December, but we’ll have to wait until 16 January 2025 to get our hands on the Intel Arc B570. However, that doesn’t take away from the curiosity of how these cards will perform against the competition, so we’ll compare the B570 against the RTX 4060 to see how much they differ. One thing to remember is that this is only a specs comparison at this stage, so it’s more about how they stack up on paper. We all know that real-world performance of any component is different and can vary depending on the test bench. So, take this information with a pinch of salt; however, we’ll update this article with more information, such as performance metrics, once we’ve tested and reviewed the Intel Arc B570 in January. If you plan on getting the B570 as soon as it launches next year and are wondering where to buy it, we’ve got you covered. Specs comparison We’ve listed some of the specifications of the Arc B570 and the RTX 4060 to see the difference in hardware, which we’ll also expand on. SpecificationsIntel Arc B570RTX 4060Cores183072Boost clock speed2500 MHz2460 MHzMemory 10GB GDDR68GB GDDR6Memory interface 160-bit128-bitBandwidth380 GB/s272 GB/sTDP150W115W Memory The first difference between these two GPUs is the VRAM. The Intel Arc B570 has 10GB GDDR6, while the RTX 4060 operates on 8GB GDDR6. More VRAM means that the GPU can hold and process more data at any given moment, which increases its efficiency and performance. People who wanted more VRAM opted for AMD GPUs as they offer plenty of memory, like the RX 7600 XT; if you’re looking in the budget category, it has 16GB of GDDR6 VRAM. However, it seems like Intel is moving in the right direction by offering more memory in budget and mid-range GPUs, as modern games require more memory to perform optimally. Bandwidth Another area where these two GPUs vary a lot is the bandwidth. Bandwidth tells you how much data can move to and from the GPU and the system for processing. The higher the bandwidth, the better the graphics card’s in-game and synthetic performance. That being said, the B570 has a 380 GB/s bandwidth, while the RTX 4060 has a 272 GB/s bandwidth. This is a difference of 108 GB/s and it is pretty significant. We’ve reviewed the RTX 4060 and the RTX 4060 Ti. The latter has a 288 GB/s bandwidth, and when we ran Cyberpunk 2077 at 1080p and 1440p, the RTX 4060 managed 77 and 48 FPS while the RTX 4060 Ti delivered 86 and 51 FPS, respectively. There is a clear difference in performance with just a 16 GB/s difference, so we expect the Intel Arc B570 to perform much better with a 108 GB/s overhead. Clock speed The boost clock of the RTX 4060 is 2,460 MHz, while the B570 has a 40MHz faster frequency of 2,500 MHz. The clock speed dictates how fast the cores are working, and the B570 can handle 2.5 billion instructions in a clock cycle, while the RTX 4060 can manage 2.460 billion instructions. However, these values aren’t set, so we can’t determine a winner just like that. Overclocking the GPU increases these frequencies, so depending on how optimized the GPU is, one could be overclocked more than the other and bridge the gap. That being said, on paper, the Intel Arc B570 has a faster boost clock speed and should have an advantage in processing and churning out more data per clock cycle, resulting in better gaming performance. Intel Arc B570 vs. RTX 4060 – price comparison The Intel Arc B570 has an MSRP of $219, while the RTX 4060, depending on the variant, can cost anywhere from $299 to over $300, according to camelcamelcamel. So, in terms of value for money, the B570 trumps the RTX 4060 based on the hardware specifications. However, we’ll know that for sure once we’ve reviewed it. Final word Looking at the specifications and price point of the Intel Arc B570, budget GPU options from Nvidia and AMD will have to take Intel seriously, as they seem to have better hardware at a lower cost. On top of that, the Intel XeSS 2 should also help it boost its performance in 1440p, enabling it to compete with the Ti and XT variants, but we’ll know this for sure when we’ve reviewed it in-house and taken it through its paces.
